"The Supervisory Commission for Amateur Clubs (Covisod) has issued a favorable opinion regarding the club's application for admission to the Serie D championship for the 2025-26 season." Yesterday, the news arrived that president Giuseppe Roma and the entire Brindisi FC staff had been waiting for. Of course, the road to readmission to Serie D is quite arduous, but it's already a first step. "The Commission's approval represents important recognition of the work accomplished in recent months by the club, committed to ensuring financial stability, management transparency, and full compliance with the requirements of federal regulations," the club's statement continues. However, some former members are spreading conflicting rumors, claiming they owe the club money. "My lawyer and I are evaluating whether to appeal to the Board of Inspectors or directly file an injunction. I haven't been paid," says a prominent former member.
Covisod assesses whether the documentation submitted meets all formal requirements, not its merits. Certainly, in order for the application to be accepted, the club had to include payment releases from the recently concluded season's registered players. And speaking of bank transfers, yesterday morning, as confirmed by Marco Rajkovic's agent, the player received another, following the one from a few days earlier. Yesterday's transfer concerned a remaining balance, but the agent specifies that the club has proven to be very serious.
If any former members actually have complaints against the club, they can appeal. For now, however, the facts support the decision of members Marco Dova, Damiano Pozzessere, and Giuseppe Roma. "The club looks to the future with determination, aiming to create an ambitious, solid project deeply rooted in the local area, capable of offering fans a competitive team ready to proudly defend the white and blue colors," the club statement continues. Be it in the Eccellenza or Serie D.
But when contacted by phone, president Giuseppe Roma doesn't hide a certain regret. "We're making every sacrifice," he claims, "we've paid everyone, the payments have been made, we've paid last year's debts. But are they angry with us? Why is someone waging war against us?" he asks, referring to the rumors spread by former members. "If someone wants to manage this club, I'll step aside and step down if they want. Otherwise, let us work peacefully. We're doing everything legally," the president assures.
